At this time I have several large parrots, including a pair of Amazon Parrots, a Cockatoo, and two Macaws. I have had parrots for over 10 years, and all of the birds I have now are "second hand" or rescue birds. With the exception of my 4 year old cockatoo, these are all older birds (older meaning over 10 years old, i.e. these are birds displaying fully mature behaviors).
There is a lot of parrot-related information on the web, most of what I have found is very good, but it is good to remember that anyone (just like me) can put their ideas up on the web, so don't believe everything you read.
