3ware RAID controllers include a number of features in the firmware that help maintain the integrity of your drives, check for errors, repair bad sectors, and rebuild units when drives degrade. In addition, 3ware Disk Manager (3DM) provides tools to let you check unit and drive status, and manually start background maintenance tasks. 3DM also lets you review alarms and errors and schedule background maintenance tasks.
