End of Summer, 2026

Yesterday and Today I found myself reflecting that the weather is just "nice".

September 1, marked a first shift -- a change from really hot (brutal?) temperatures to hot but quite tolerable. A change had happened. It seemed to come on the tail of a big monsoon storm.

Again early this week we had a day of big rain. The weatherman said it was a weak low that came from the south, quite warm with a lot of steady rain for several hours in the evening. After this it just seemed that the weather was nice.

High temperatures are still 95 to 98 and there is enough humidity that nighttime temperatures are not yet dropping low enough for me to want to sleep outside. I find that it needs to be 81 or below when I am trying to get to sleep. The past few days have been borderline in that way, and it should be perfect once humidity drops.

This morning temperatures were 80 at 8:00 AM and rising rapidly. But 80 feels cool and pleasant after weeks of near 110 highs. For that matter highs of 95 don't feel bad after weeks of near 110.

Mosquitos are still pesky in my workshop and I continue to run the A/C in my lab.
