Video - DaVinci Resolve - 2026 update
I haven't done anything since 2024. My linux install of Resolve is gone now.
It was in /opt/resolve. I did a from scratch Fedora install and it was one
of the things that needed to get reinstalled.
I keep all my Resolve versions (zip files) in /u1/Resolve.
I see the zip for Resolve Studio 20.0 there, and that is what I should install.
Studio is the paid version with all the codec support I need on linux.
The website indicates that 21 is now available.
Pricing
I have already paid my money for a one-time purchase, but for the record:
- There is a free version with some limitations
- A One-time perpetual purchase is $295
- A subscription to Black Magic cloud is $30 per month
- A One-time purchase with the speed editor is $435
The studio license allows install on 2 devices. Thus far the perpetual license
allows updates for free. I was told (incorrectly) that the perpetual license was
gone and you had to go with the subscription, but this is not true.
