Tombstone Arizona, Silver and silver prices

How much silver was mined at Tombstone and what was it worth?

I see a production figure of 32,000,000 troy ounces. At the time (1882 or so) the price of silver was $1.29 per counce as set by the silver coinage act of 1792.

So 32 million ounces of silver was 41 million dollars at the time it was mined. At todays prices ($23.75), that production would be worth 760 million dollars.

Today (2023)

A Morgan silver dollar contains 0.7743 troy ounces of silver.
Here is an interesting page about them (1878-1921). Certain years are entirely or partly minted from silver from Tombstone.

Current silver prices is $23.75 per troy ounce, making a Morgan dollar worth $18 these days.

I see the 1881-S dollar being dubbed the "Tombstone" dollar. They sell for nearly $100 in BU condition (brillian uncirculated).
