STM32H747I-DISCO "Discovery kit with STM32H747XI MCU" -- the board "in hand"

Sort of like a unboxing video, but in text.

The LCD

It is big. 3.5 by 5 inches. And it comes with a little IO expander that can be plugged in on the side to make it even bigger (and provide more connectors).

The LCD is big too. The active area looks to be 2 by 3.5 inches. They call it a "4” capacitive touch LCD display module with. MIPI® DSI interface". And it is 4 inches on the diagonal.

It looks like it is 800 by 480. And it displays color also. More than I expected.

It is marked "MB1166 Rev A" and searching on that gives more information. They say is is WVGA and displays 16.7M colors.

Buttons and lights

There are two small buttons and a big blue button.
The two button are "reset" (black) and "wakeup (blue).
The big blue button is actually a joystick.
Near the small buttons are 4 LED and one fancy multicolor LED.

Power

It seems hard to believe this thing can be powered from USB, but I don't see a barrel jack or any place that looks like it is intended for power. I grab a micro-USB cable and plug it in via the ST-Link usb connector. The fancy LED begins to blink at about 1 Hz and there we are so far.

Connectors

There is an 8 bit camera connector, a 10 pin TAG-connect, a 10 pin ARM debug connector, a micro SD card and more.

Chips

They say there is 2x512 Mbit Quad-SPI NOR flash memory. These are MT25QL512ABB8ESF-0SIT devices and there are two. One is U3, the other is U14 on opposite sides of the board.
So these give 128M bytes each, 256 Mbytes total.

ISSI IS42S32800J - this is 256 Mbit (64M) DRAM

Manuals

There is a user manual (UM2411) that sheds lots of light on the layout of the thing.
