Putting photos on Facebook
Doing this with snapshoots from your phone is easy enough, but
what if you have nice images in your lightroom catalog that
you would like to post? It turns out to be pretty easy.
Thanks to Dave for the following steps:
Export a JPG
Dave says that he has an export preset set up to do this:
- resize the image so long edge is 1800px
- sharpen the image for "Screen"
- strip all metadata except copyright and contact info
- place my signature watermark in lower left corner
- finally, write the image to a specific folder on my PC
Use the facebook browser interface to post it
- login/navigate to your profile home page in FaceBook
- click "Photo/video" (just under "What's on your mind?").
This opens a "Create Post" dialog box.
- drag and drop your photo into the "Add Photos/Videos" space
(I click on the "+" thing in the middle and it launches a file import dialog)
- figure out a cheesy caption/description to enter into the "What's on your mind?" space
- click "Post", you are done
