The PMU

This is a discussion of the PMU (Performance Monitoring Unit). I have used this with great satisfaction on the BBB (ARM Cortex-A8), but now find that the same code does not work on the OrangePi (ARM Cortex-A7). My notes suggested there may be differences on other ARM variants. A logical place to look is the "ARM Cortex-A7 MPCore Technical Reference Manual", as given in the link above. This is chapter 11 in the Cortex-A7 section.
