Virtually every language and software technology known to man plays a part in the WFS software, (with the notable exception of COBOL). Everyone who works on the software feels compelled to use it as a proving ground for some new technology, and this tradition is now firmly entrenched.

The diagram below provides an outline of the dataflow through the WFS software. Some people have objected that this diagram is overly complex and does not accurately represent the true configuration. In fact, the situation is far more complex, and yet in comparison with the F15 AO software (diagram in progress) the WFS software is trivial and straightforward.
