You may not need to do any of the above to browse the group discussions, I am not sure. You do need to join if you want to send messages to the group. You also may need to join if you want to look at files and resources that the group has accumulated (which can be quite valuable).
When I joined, I arranged that I get message by message postings forwarded to my email address (which is not a yahoo address), so all the traffic since I have joined has piled up in my mail folder and I can search it there rather than putting up with the yahoo interface.
There are actually two groups: atlas_craftsman and atlas_craftsman_projects. The first group is what you want, that is where all the traffic is. The second group is just a holder for documents and files.
When I joined the second group and was accepted, I got a mail like this:
Here are a few key tips to get you started: * To learn more about the atlas_craftsman_projects group, please visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/atlas_craftsman_projects * To post a message to this group, send email to atlas_craftsman_projects@yahoogroups.com * To contact the moderator of this group, send email to atlas_craftsman_projects-owner@yahoogroups.com * To unsubscribe from this group, send email to atlas_craftsman_projects-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.comSo, to send a message to the group we actually do want to send a message to, we send to atlas_craftsman@yahoogroups.com
