So I decided to clean up and repaint my Atlas 101.07403 12x36 lathe. It was more than filthy enough to warrant the clean up, but under all the grime I found the original blue-grey paint in pretty good condition. But I am too far into it to turn back now, and it is getting painted an almond white (International Harvester White). I may regret painting it something other than nigh unto primer grey when I start getting it dirty, but if I keep it clean, it will be a happy sight.
Some of these little brushes would be just the ticket. As you can tell if you click the link, you can buy them at McMaster Carr (a little pricey compared to cheap brushes from China, but you may note they are rated to run at die-grinder speeds, which cheap brushes are not. Use real eye protection!
Speaking of die-grinders, I bought a $15 pneumatic driven die-grinder to help clean up nasty spots. It just didn't do what I wanted, so back it will go after a quick test flight. With the air pressure turned back so it would run the brushes I had at sensible speeds, it would stall under any pressure. And it is noisy enough to annoy the neighbors and frighten away wildlife.
