The Superstition Mountains

At the time of this writing (June, 2019) the Superstition high country has been ravaged by the Woodbury fire. I had just visited this area in the Spring, but there is no telling what I will find when I return. The fire was human caused on June 8, with details unknown (or not being made public). The fire has now burned 123,875 Acres, and is not expected to be "out" until the summer rains finish it off in July.

The desert areas in the west part of the Superstitions are unlikely to be affected by the fire. These areas are the most heavily used by the many people in the Phoenix area.
