TOPO! for Utah

September 24, 2007, I received the TOPO! set for Utah. (Another used copy purchased online on Amazon marketplace.) It is version 2.6.2 circa 2000. It contains 6 CDroms, and I copied them to my hard drive topo archive as follows:

On my linux machine, I insert the CD and it gets automatically mounted as /media/UT_01 on /dev/scd0, and I do the following:

cd /u1/topo
cp -var /media/UT_01/ut_d01 .
I repeat this for all 6 CD's.

The first CD contains the software (which I ignore as always). The first CD also contains files for the entire state for levels 1 through 4. In paticular ut1_map3 contains one giant ut1_map3.tpq file to cover the entire state. The directory nm1_map4 contains 57 "k" files for level 4. These level 4 files are also repeated in the "d" directories on subsequent CD's along with the "q" files for level 5.

No surprises here.
