The "Ingo" spectrometer project - Power Supply
The unit requires 5 volt power, supplied via the common coax connector.
The seller says that he ships a 3 amp supply with the units people buy
with the PSU included, but it should run with a smaller supply.
Running them with a 1.5 amp supply
I dug around in my pile of "wall wart" power supplies.
I ended up doing a bit of soldering to put the appropriate coaxial
connector onto a 5 volt 1.5 amp rated unit.
It seems to work just fine.
The unit is a Hewlett-Packard F1817A, made in China.
It is likely to be honestly rated with a Hewlett-Packard badge.
Someday I'll have to actually measure how much current is being drawn.
