The "Ingo" spectrometer project - Spectragryph

Spectroscopy Ninja was retired in 2016, being replaced by Spectragryph

Spectragryph is Windows only, but people seem to manage to use it on Linux via Wine or on Mac system with VirtualBox or some other emulator. My experience with Wine has been terrible, so I feel little interest in going down that road ever again.

The initial download gives you a limited trial version. The limits are 42 days after the first spectrum is opened and after the software has been started 42 times, or 420 spectra have been opened.

A free license for private and academic use is available. The free license gives you the "standard version" which does not have the direct spectrometer control features or the database search feature. You have to ask for such a license. The pricing for an individual is:

Standard version -- Free
with spectrometer control --125 Euros
with database search -- 200 Euros
with control and search -- 290 Euros
I submitted the download form with my name (Thomas Trebisky) and email address. The download gives me the English v1.2.16.1 from July 14, 2022 -- 11.9 MB I get:
-rw-r--r-- 1 tom tom 12540592 Feb 14 09:39 spectragryph_install_1.2.exe

Install as administrator

This is a windows thing, but is essential if you want to read and save spectra files.

When you install, right click on the "install.exe" and choose "Run as administrator". Simple if you know the trick and the necessity of doing this.
