Rigol DS1054Z Oscilloscope tutorial - Measurement using cursors

You have a waveform on the screen and want to make a measurement in either X or Y. Here is how you do it.

There is a group of 6 buttons towards the top of the control panel. The lower left one is "Cursor". Press it and all of the blue buttons on the right side of the screen go into "Cursor mode".

The top selects Mode (I use Manual). The next selects if you are making an X or a Y measurement. The next (third) selects which channel you are measuring.

Now you use the "mode" knob. Pressing it toggles between 3 states. Moving the left cursor, moving the right cursor, and moving both cursors together.

A popup menu tells you everything you might want to know about the two cursors. The left one is "A" and the right one is "B". I am usually interested in the fifth entry, which is BX-AX, i.e. the time "distance" between the two.
