The IP2 was used in IRIS 2000 and IRIS 3000 workstations. In an IRIS 2000 it would yield a "T" suffix indicating "turbo". This is in comparison to the standard 68010 cpu.
These systems ran a form of Unix System V called "GL2". They did not run IRIX (that came later and may only have run on MIPS based silicon graphics machines.
The IP2 board has no memory (apart from a 2K static ram chip that allows the PROM monitor to run on startup). It expects an IM1 memory board, connected by a ribbon cables).Tom's Computer Info / tom@mmto.org
