Firefox passwords

You may be surprised, dismayed, or bored to be told that firefox stores passwords. This is a great convenience, but also a great risk.

It can also be downright handy when you forget a password that you haven't had to enter for years because firefox has been remembering it for you. Here is how to get firefox to tell you the secrets it is keeping:

  1. Use Edit-->Preferences-->Security
  2. Click the "Saved Passwords" button.
  3. Click the "Show Passwords" button.
Scary, eh?

Makes you want to log out every night and/or use a secure screen locker.
