Firefox Ad blocker

Let's give this a try. I do a Google search on "firefox ad blocker" and the first hit is "Adblock Plus", which is on the Mozilla site in their plugins collection. There are others, but we will see about this one first. It is trivial to install, there is a button in the website link and firefox knows how to install plugins for itself, which is nice. Click the "Add to Firefox" button, agree to give it a bunch of permissions and it takes all of 15 seconds.

It announces that it is installed and brings up an "honor system" screen asking for a donation. A little red ABP stop sign appears in the upper right on my browser.

I copy and paste a Youtube URL, and by golly, no ads! The Adblocker "stop sign" now is displaying a count of ads that it has blocked. It shows a count of six as soon as I go to the Youtube URL. This looks good!

For all I know, it may be possible to install an ad blocker in Chrome. It was suggested to me though that since Youtube and Chrome are both part of the "alphabet" octopus, they may have gone to some lengths to prevent this.
