Cholla and the Asus A8N-E motherboard

This is the motherboard I currently use. I has a socket 939 which accomodates a dual core AMD-64 processor. The marketing people call the processor I have an Athlon 64 X2 3800+. The actual clock speed seems to be 2015 Mhz.

I have manual for the A8N-E stashed here. It has zillions of USB ports. It has (of all things!) a parallel port, which is nice. It has one serial port, albeit with an internal connector.

I have struggled at great length trying to get sound working with this motherboard, and have yet to succeed. You can read about my sound struggles here.
