Samba and FreeDOS

This will be great, if we can get it to work!

I am following the instructions given above. The first thing was to find the MS Client disk images. They no longer seem to be on the Microsoft FTP site, but a search located them elsewhere, and I have placed the copies here for your convenience.

As per instructions, I burned them to a CDROM to transfer them to my FreeDOS system. This is currently the only way to move software there. Then, as per instructions: 

cd \
mkdir msclient
cd msclient
mkdir d1
mkdir d2
cd d1
d:DSK3-1
cd ..\d2
d:DSK3-2
cd ..\d1
setup
This setup gizmo plans to install things to c:\NET, which I guess is OK. It then announces that it is "examining my system files" and that this may "take a few minutes". 2 hours later it is still doing whatever it is doing.

So I have given up on this. It sounded like a nice idea at the time.
