Runaway "dosemu" on linux

It was about 10 in the evening. It was several hours after I had finished experimenting with C# and F#. I was getting ready to head for bed, but then I noticed my computer CPU fan was running fast enough that I could hear it. (Usually I never hear it).

So I bring up a terminal window and run "top". What do I see, but two (why two?) dosemu processed that are both running at 100 percent -- and have been since about 5 hours ago. Load average is 2.5. I kill both processes, the fan immediately goes quiet. Load averages drop (after a while) to the usual 0.28.

So this is odd and surely a bug -- but not my problem. Something perhaps to keep an eye on and report if I can nail down more precisely what of the dozens of things I did triggered it.

After my reinstall in 2024 I have not seen a repeat of this. I have seen other odd things, but nothing of this sort.
