Pedals
My wife once had Speedplay "Frogs" on her bicycle. These were recommended because they
had a tremendous amount of "float" and there was great paranoia about knee injury due to
pedals with limited float. These pedals are now out of production, the cleats on her shoes
are worn and will no longer clip in, "old stock" replacement cleats sell for ridiculous
prices when available, so it is time to select a new pedal.
Some thoughts:
- Avoid non-mainstream unique pedals like the Frog.
- SPD is the world standard (or so it seems).
- The concern about knee injury may have been excessive.
