Mountain Bike rides outside of Tucson
A pretty vast topic, limited only by the fact that I have done little to no
exploring of my options in this regard.
New Mexico
I continually remind myself that New Mexico is not that far from Tucson.
Alamagordo is 345 miles from Tucson (about a 6 hour drive), which is nothing
to sneeze at. Compare it to the 260 mile drive to Flagstaff (but without the
misery of driving through Phoenix along the way).
The above ride is in the Lincoln national forest near Cloudcroft at 8600 feet elevation.
It is described as a 3 day bikepack covering 139 miles. Clearly something to do in the
summer given the elevation (April to September is recommended).
Have any comments? Questions?
