Vanadinite case Study

I am getting busy again taking mineral photos. I got all my gear assembled, then looked for something to photograph. I selected the first thing I found convenient to hand. A piece of Vanadinite from the Ramsey Mine, La Paz County, Arizona.

This is the first time I am working with Helicon Focus, and the first time I am using my Mitutoyo objectives with the Raynox 150 as a relay lens.

My first photo was using the Canon MPE-65 lens set at 3x. I am using a full frame Canon R5 camera, with a sensor that is 24mm top to bottom, so with 3x magnification, the field of view is 8mm. Illumination was direct light from a single Jansjo LED lamp. This is a stack of 5 images, using 50 step increments with my rig. I am quite surprised it turned out as well as it did.
