Turquoise from the Silver Coin Mine in Nevada

This was a "warm up" after not doing any of this for 7 months. I also wanted to try a stack using my Mitutoyo 10x.

At this time, the Mitutoyo is mounted in front of a Canon 200mm f/4 FD mount prime lens. This certainly works, but I am eager to try the Raynox-150 and have ordered the necessary adapters to do so.

I had to make several directories using lightroom (since this is now 2023).

I also neglected to hit return in my GUI to set the step size. I wanted 5 steps per image, but it took the default (which seems to be 10) giving me 37 images from 99650 to 100050.

The stacked result is pretty awful, so much so that it is not even worth showing. There are lots of nasty specular reflections from Wavellite crystals. What would be the first thing to try would be using a bellows/tent diffusor.

I had intended to use a 7 micron step size (4-5 motor steps on my system). That is fairly irrelevant though until I tame the specular reflections.

Lighting is one Jansjo lamp with no diffuser. I set my color balance to 3600K. Exposure was 1/8 second.
