Natrozippeite from the Blue Lizard Mine

I made the mistake of not "dusting" the specimen with canned air and there are several lint hairs in the image.

I used the MPE-65 set at 5x and f/2.8. I set exposure to manual and 1/8 of a second.

Lighting is one Jansjo lamp with no diffuser. I set my color balance to 3600K.

I am using a 20 micron step size, which is 12 motor steps for my rail. I set the bottom focus to 450 and the top to 1400, which yielded 81 exposures.

I wish it was sharper. I may try changing my software to not use the 8x microstepping and see if that solves anything. Another possibility would be a finer step size. It is got rid of the 8x microstepping and went to a single step, that would be 8/12 * 20 = 13.3 microns rather than 20, so I would get both benefits.

Johannite at the upper left. Two tiny Redcanyonite crystals

The field is 3.74mm.
